Google apuesta por los teléfonos móviles gratis

"El teléfono móvil debería ser gratis, y es lógico porque estaría financiado por la publicidad que cada vez será más importante en los teléfonos móviles".

Estas son las palabras de Eric Schmidt, Director General de Google, que hace unos días aseguraba a Reuters que veía un futuro en el que los teléfonos móviles serían gratuitos para aquellos consumidores que aceptasen publicidad personalizada en sus dispositivos.

Google lleva varios años desarrollando servicios destinados a llevar la información a este tipo de aparatos: Google Maps, Google News, SMS, redes sociales, e incluso los vídeos de YouTube. Y la compañía también ha apostado siempre por ofrecer los contenidos de manera gratuita, acompañados de anuncios que proporcionasen los ingresos económicos necesarios, y por ello en el mundo de los dispositivos móviles está desarrollando publicidad AdWords, y quiere patentar el Click-To-Call en los móviles y también la publicidad basada en la posición geográfica.

Además, Google también está invirtiendo en redes WiFi en EEUU de acceso gratuito, y en iniciativas como Fon que les permitan disponer de su propia red móvil de acceso a la información.
